Higher Education

Nearly a century ago as Arizona became the 48th State in the Union, the people of Arizona embedded their commitment to higher education in the state Constitution. When growth and maturation required more robust higher education, Arizona transformed its teachers’ colleges into comprehensive universities and broadened the reach of higher education with the expansion of community colleges to virtually every county.
